Why is the bride is always on the left during the wedding ceremony?
It’s because her knight in shining armor needs his right hand to fight off other potential suitors or attackers.
According to legend, to protect his bride, the groom would hold her with his left hand and fight off attackers with his right arm. The right arm was considered the sword arm of most fighting men.
Still to this day, the traditional wedding ceremony has the bride and bridesmaids on the left when facing the officiant. The groom and groomsmen stand to the right… with sword in hand just in case of course.
